rubber duck baby shower!
In September we are expecting a new addition to our extended famjam - my sister is having her first baby! It's the first baby in my immediate family, and the first boy, so we're all a little bit excited! We chose a pretty gender-neutral theme because we didn't know the gender until a week before the shower, but it really could go either way if there was a little bit of pink thrown in!
we hosted it in the multi-purpose room of our church + set up for about 120 people

Guess How Many prize that my grandmother ended up winning.
giant punch bowl with expanding beads served as a bigger version of our centerpieces.
smaller bowls ($0.97 at our local walmart) with rubber duckies (ordered from amazon for < $1 a piece) worked as cheap centrepieces for the day! one pack those expanding beads went in 15 centrepieces and in the punch bowl for less than $5
less than full dessert table. didn't get a chance to take a picture of it in full swing.
a special moment - my grandmother (the baby's great-grandmother) started this sweater/hat/bootie set in december when she found out natasha was pregnant. she's 84, has severe arthritis, but still managed to crochet this for her newest grand baby! she is too sweet!
We had a really great time putting this together with a pretty low decorating budget! Not pictured are our favors - hollow chocolate ducks we found on clearance at walmart after easter that cost us around 35 cents each to put together!
How lovely this rubber duck baby shower it is! I want to have this theme as my baby shower and will surely ask my mom for that. She is planning a DIY party at one of the San Francisco venues in next month. Hoping that I will have baby shower of my desire.
