DCP Update: Guess where I'm Working!!!!!!!

So this afternoon at our meeting we finally got our WORK LOCATIONS!!!!!

I thought we would have to wait until tomorrow at traditions but it was the last thing we did at our paperwork appointment!!!! YAYY!!!!

Most of my roommates have their locations, save for two of them. lifegaurds have to do a swim test tonight and will find out their exact location after they pass! 

So far my roomates are working at Blizzard Beach (Food & Beverage), Hollywood Studios Backlot (Merchandise) and Downtown Disney (Merchandise)! They're all excited about their roles and I'm super excited for them!! 

I will be working in.......


MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!!!! Because I have a custodial role, I don't have a specific work location and I will (hopefully) be in all of the different areas of the park! So, if you're in Magic Kingdom this summer, COME FIND ME! I'll be rocking the all-white uniform, cleaning up, giving directions, and making magic!

Countdown to Disney: Tell everybody I'm ON MY WAY!

Hey Guys!
So yesterday morning (after tossing and turning all night) my parents and I made the trek to St. John's for a little pre-trip before I fly out on Monday! We got in around lunchtime to do some shopping and I met up with a friend to FINALLY see the new Avengers movie! It was so good and full of action (and hawkeye, whom I adore). I'm still iffy on the whole Natasha/Bruce story line, just because it seems so out of place and out of character. I always feel like Nat is just pretending to love him to help the team...but I could be wrong!

This morning I woke up at 6am for no apparent reason, but it was nice being able to read and relax. I have a feeling I won't be doing a whole lot of that over the next little while. Today we're  just kind of hanging around, going to costco, and picking up some last minute things so I'm all packed and ready to go bright and early tomorrow morning! I'm so happy I only have one stopover in New York. Even though I LOVE airports and people watching, I have a feeling I am going to be ridiculously exhausted tomorrow.
 Although I'm not checking into Disney Housing until Tuesday, I'm meeting up with some other girls at the airport and we're going to stay in a hotel overnight so we can go over to Vista Way together! Yay for not being alone and/or lost! (here's hoping we can find each other in the Orlando Airport!)

After months and months and months of planning and worrying it blows my mind that all of this is actually happening! Here's hoping my program doesn't go as fast as these past three months have!

Countdown to Disney: These are Few of My Favorite {Disney} Things!

Less than one week until Disney - can you say excited?!?!

Since I don't really have anything exciting happening between now and probably Monday, I thought I could have a little fun with a blog post a day between now and the day I leave!

On the note of being, ya know, in WALT DISNEY WORLD next week - here are some of my FAVORITE things!

1. All Time favorite Disney movie

  • I used to know this - but it is actually SO HARD FOR ME. I think {possibly} beauty and the beast.

    • Princess and the Frog

    • Hunchback of Notre Dame

    • Tangled


3. Favorite Princess

  • A tie between Tiana and Belle for sure!

4. Favorite Prince

  • Prince Naveen *heart eyes emoji*

5. Favorite Couple

  • Tiana and Naveen - they're so cute, especially in the parks

6. Favorite Villain

  • Dr. Facillier (PaTF) or the sass-master himself: Hades (Hercules)

7. Favorite Hero/Heroine

  • I love Megera from Hercules!

8. Favorite Sidekick

  • the gargoyles (especially Laverne) from Hunchback. 

9. Favorite Park

  • Tie between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom 

10. Favorite Ride

  • expedition everest. or kali river rapids. or splash mountain. (how do you even choose?)

11. Favorite Land

  • haven't even been there yet but probably New Fantasyland

12. Favorite Snack

  • i've had very few disney snacks :( but the waffle sandwhiches from sleepy hollow in MK are amazingggg

13. Favorite Attraction/Show

  • again, I haven't seen very many. Wishes for sure, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to love Fantasmic!

14. Favorite Resort/Hotel

  • ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE. THERE ARE ANIMALS OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW. I would also love to stay at art of animation in the lion king suites.

15. Favorite Song

  • Ah! So hard. He Lives in You from The Lion King 2? Down in New Orleans (PaTF)? Belle (BaTB)? every song from the tarzan soundtrack? I actually cannot choose.

16. Favorite Villian Song

  • friends on the other side (PaTF)

18. Most under/overrated Disney Movies

  • underrated: meet the robinsons
    overrated: tbh, frozen. just because it's been blown up wayyyy too much.

19. Favorite Pixar Movie

  • Ratatouille!

Sarah's DCP: One week from departure!

Hey guys!

So ONE WEK UNTIL I GET ON A PLANE BOUND FOR FLORIDA!!!!!!!

Woah. Where did the past four months go??

Right now I have 90% of my luggage packed, all of my documents are printed, I've acquired enough american money to {hopefully} last me until my first paycheck and I think I am ready.

On Saturday I will be leaving my hometown, staying in St. John's for a couple of nights, then bright and early Monday morning I will be boarding a plane! Woohoo!

I don't check-in at Disney housing until Tuesday, so a few girls and I are meeting on Monday afternoon and staying in a hotel for the night! So the biggest challenge on Monday is going to be finding each other with no cell phones. Wish us luck!

i've been putting off posting this for a while, but i think it's finally time to get it out there!

Last night I applied for the Disney J-1 Cultural Exchange Program.

woooohhoOO!

if you know me, you know that i basically only am passionate about two things:

kids ministry, and disney.

so for probably about 3 years now, i've been contemplating and praying about this program.

and i honestly feel called to this program.

i know, it sounds weird to be saying that God "called" me to a non-church program. while other people i know from school are being "called" to christian organizations, doing missions work, etc.

i think i'm being called to work at disney world?

sounds crazy right?

about i guess 6 months or so ago i prayed and prayed about this, and i honestly think this is not my own need to do this, but it is God sending me.

i've got a whole post from my journal that i need to get put up here, but i'm in the middle of paper writing, so i'll get that up when/if i get accepted.

but seriously - it's so exciting to do something so outside of my comfort zone. my parents kind of know that i've applied, and karima knows i've applied. but other then that i'm keeping it a little hush hush until i hear anything further.

hopefully i get an interview, then i get to go to toronto (!!!) and visit for a couple of days, which would make my life so great bc i miss my friends too much :(
